The more you talk, the more you'll get trapped, says BN's reticent Ramli

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: Barisan Nasional candidate Ramli Mohd Nor has explained why he chose not to talk a lot during the campaign period for the Cameron Highlands polls.

He said he wanted to avoid getting into unnecessary trouble or to be caught with his foot in his mouth.

"Did you notice why I didn't say much? I know the media doesn't like it.

"The more you talk, the more you'll be 'trapped' by your own mouth," he told reporters when met near SK Menson here on Saturday (Jan 26).

"It's not that I don't like the media. I have given press statements before (when I was a police officer)," added Ramli, who is vying for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat with Pakatan Harapan's M. Manogaran and two independent candidates Wong Seng Yee and Sallehudin Ab Talib.

Ramli also said he had overslept this morning (Jan 26).

"I was too tired and a bit under the weather after two weeks of campaigning," he said.

He added that he was not voting here as he was still registered in Kuala Lumpur.

"I was last posted there prior to the general election," he said.

The Election Commission said it expects to announce the results tonight at between 10pm and 11pm.
