KUALA LUMPUR: Sessions Court judge Azman Ahmad has allowed a 30-minute recess for  the mention for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar's joint charges of criminal breach of trust.

The former prime minister's lead counsel Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shafee Abdullah requested the break, saying that he had only received the six charges at 8.55am on Thursday (Oct 25).

"We need to understand the six charges, receive orders and to provide our client with information.

"I request for a stand down for at least half an hour. Maximum an hour," Dr Mohd Shafee said.

Lead prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram did not object.

Judge Azman said: "Thirty minutes. Nothing more".
