UP-AND-COMING actor Harris Annuar (pic) feels frustrated when people tend to focus on his good looks instead of his acting skills, reported Utusan Malaysia.

Harris, 25, said he did not want to be labelled a stale actor who lacked talent.

“The challenges in the creative industry are not just about handling celebrity gossip. It’s about displaying your gifts in the arts and not just your physical appearance,” he said.

Harris, who was the second runner-up of Hero Remaja 2017, said he put in a lot of effort in every career move he made and never shied away from criticism.

“I’m new to the industry, so every criticism is an opportunity to improve,” he added.

> A hornbill has been the constant companion of an orang asli widow in Taman Negara, Kuala Tahan, Pahang, for the past three months, reported Harian Metro.

Umi, from the Batek Negrito tribe, received the bird as a gift from her cousin, who found it while hunting.

Umi, who calls the bird To’ek, believes it fell from its nest.

“It was still small and didn’t have any feathers when I got it. To’ek has since become my loyal companion,” said the 37-year-old, who lost her husband to high fever last year.

Wreathed hornbills are found in the tropical rainforest. They are a protected species.

“I let To’ek fly freely. If it’s hungry, it will make a sound. I feed it bananas and rice.

“Let it return to the forest when it’s fully grown, that’s its home. I’m taking care of it now as it is still young,” Umi said.
