House in Batu Arang partially destroyed in fire


PETALING JAYA: A double-storey terraced house in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Batu Arang was partially destroyed in a fire on Sunday (April 12) evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said firefighters received an emergency call at 7.39pm.

The team arrived at the scene four minutes later.

Ahmad Mukhlis said in a statement on Monday (April 13) that the fire involved a Class A house measuring 18 by 60 square feet.

About 40% of the upper floor was affected.

A total of 14 personnel from the Batu Arang Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by the Rawang station, were deployed to the scene.

Two fire engines and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit were dispatched to carry out firefighting operations.

No casualties were reported as at press time.
