KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia must emphasise building a generation with strong values or risk having a generation without strong moral foundations, says an Opposition lawmaker.
Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN-Kubang Kerian) said human values must be prioritised over focusing on physical aspects.
“We need to block out and eradicate pornography and excessive games completely. If we do not take action now, we risk seeing future generations that are without values,” he said when debating Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Oct 14).
On another matter, Tuan Ibrahim said there must be a study carried out on whether Budget 2027 aligns with the 13th Malaysia Plan roadmap.
He also said there must be a greater focus on flood management, especially hastening flood mitigation projects in Kelantan.
Tuan Ibrahim urged for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of flood mitigation projects in Kelantan to be done concurrently.
“If we do not move fast, areas like Rantau Panjang, Tumpat and Pasir Mas will once again be struck by floods,” he said.
