KOTA KINABALU: Sulabayan assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong is alive and well.

The 67-year-old said allegations that he had died were irresponsible and silly.

A fake obituary of the assemblyman has been circulating since early Monday (April 13).

“I am very much alive, well and healthy. Thank you for your concern,” he said when contacted.

“Maybe these people just miss me so much that they resort to coming up with fake announcements,” said Jaujan, who served as deputy chief minister from 2018 to 2020.

He said his weekly duties were packed with Hari Raya invitations, weddings and meeting constituents to find solutions to issues that arise.

“I am not active on social media, but I am busy on the ground,” he said.

He added that he has no time to upload his activities and the ones that make it to social media are from postings by others.

Jaujan said he would rather focus on doing his job than pay attention to fake news.

He advised those with too much time on their hands to find useful and meaningful activities instead.
