Shahidan Kassim’s brother Ismail quits Umno, will join Pribumi

KANGAR: Tambun Tulang assemblyman Datuk Ismail Kassim (pic) has quit Umno, and is set to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

However, he has indicated that he will be an independent assemblyman for now.

A local online news outlet reported that Ismail, who is the brother of Perlis Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, said that he has lost confidence in the party leadership.

“I am showing that I am nobody's puppet. I did not inform Shahidan of my decision to quit,” the portal quoted him as saying.
