Malaysian accused of molesting S’porean woman

A 27-year-old Malaysian who works in Singapore was accused of molesting his superior when he attempted to get his salary, Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported.

The man, however, denied he touched the Singaporean woman’s breast and claimed he just tapped her shoulder to get her attention.

The incident happened at a coffee shop in Eunos at about 11.45pm on Thursday and the man was detained by the police for almost 20 hours before he was released.

The man, who is a food stall helper, said he had worked in Singapore for about nine years but was employed at the stall only recently.

“I quit after six days as I could not accept the work culture.

“A dispute broke out on Thursday and I wanted to get an explanation from my superior.

“I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder when she refused to answer my question.

“She shouted at me and our boss also lodged a police report, alleging that I molested her,” he claimed.

He claimed his passport was taken by the police pending an investigation and he could not return to Malaysia.

“I also can’t get a new job without a passport.

“I have to contact my family members in Malaysia, asking them to send me some money.

“I really did not molest the woman and hope that the police can get to the bottom of the matter soon,” he added.

A police report was lodged after the incident and the police helped them locate the man who bought the water dispenser.

The mother and daughter rushed to the man’s place and managed to their items.
