Love conquers all, even floodwaters

GEORGE TOWN: All decked up, the bridegroom was not going to let the gloomy and wet weather spoil his big day.

The happy man was adamant to go ahead – even though he might have to wade through knee-deep floodwaters – to reach his bride.

A video of him showing up at his bride’s home in a new Toyota Vellfire with a Penang licence plate went viral and within hours, became the talk of the town.

The clip shows the crowd clapping and cheering as he emerges from his MPV and tries his best not to get his knees soaked in the floodwaters.

The man, clad in modern wedding attire, ponders on how to make his way inside the house to reach the bride’s bedroom and persuade his fair maiden to follow him back to his house for the ceremony.

But a squad of protective bridesmaids stand in his way.

According to popular beliefs, if he arrives in a less-than-perfect form, they are empowered to prevent him from taking her away.

While the groom ponders on what he needs to do, a man enters the video frame and cheerily entreats him to clamber onto his back.

The groom then piggybacks on the man into the house and towards the love of his life as the video ends.
