Couple’s underground illegal LPG decanting racket busted


GEORGE TOWN: A couple believed to be raking in profits of about RM150,000 a month for about a year by decanting subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to sell to the industrial sector were nabbed in an operation in Bayan Lepas.

An enforcement team raided a warehouse in Kampung Bukit and found an underground room where 50kg industrial cylinders were hooked to hoses for decanting the LPG from subsidised 12kg and 14kg gas cylinders.
