KUALA LUMPUR: Tuberculosis (TB) is a silent killer, with many patients seeking treatment only after the disease has permanently damaged their lungs and increased their risk of dying.
Those with a higher risk of contracting TB – smokers, the elderly and people with diabetes or HIV, for instance – symptoms seemingly as minor as a cough may be a sign of a bigger problem.
