Ipoh cops nab four suspects over Buntong murder


IPOH: Police have arrested four suspects over the murder of a 25-year old man in Buntong here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said three men, aged from 28 to 34, were arrested at the Buntong market at about 5.30pm on Tuesday (April 7).

"We have obtained an order to remand them for two days until April 9.

"We are still trying to determine the actual cause of the incident," he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 8).

He added that another suspect was arrested at 1am on April 7 had been remanded for seven days.

"The case is being investigated under Sections 302, 326 and 148 of the Penal Code for murder, causing grievous hurt and rioting with weapons," he said.

On Monday (April 6) the murder victim's body was found in the middle of a road in Buntong.

The victim was renting a car with several others when a group attacked them with parang.

ACP Muhammad Najib also two others were injured in the attack and are still receiving treatment.

"Both are weak but are in stable condition," he said.
