Govt confident Geely's partnership with Proton will boost sales

PETALING JAYA: The Government is confident China's carmaker Zheijiang Geely Automotive Co Ltd, following its acquisition of a 49.9% stake in Proton, will boost Proton’s sale performance and bottom-line.

In welcoming the partnership with DRB-Hicom, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said Geely's acquisition was long awaited by the 350 parts and components manufacturers as well as support and services-related vendors in the Proton ecosystem.
