ESMOD Kuala Lumpur unveils Graduation Fashion Show 2026

ESMOD Kuala Lumpur once again presented a spectacular Graduation Fashion Show by its latest ensemble of soon-to-be graduates.

Held on March 29 at Edenmill by Metal Bees (PJ), the rising fashion designers took over the runway with their bold fashion creations, delivering an elegant experience infused with artistry, fresh narratives and boundary-pushing craftsmanship.

This season, the designers transformed themselves to embody the theme “Chimera” – a mythical creature from Greek mythology, known as a hybrid beast composed of different animal parts. The show explored the concept of duality and diversity in self-expression.

“Like the chimera, our runway becomes a fusion of contrasting styles and personalities, each collection representing a different facet of who we are. Together, we form a bold, unapologetic whole – powerful, unpredictable and ever-evolving,” the group shared of their chosen theme.

The talented lineup from the class of FD2303 included Amber Chong Ann Qee, Ashley Goh Si Jie, Belle Jong Chen Zi, Chuah E-Xuan, Erica Chua Qian Rou, Jacinta Lau Yu Xuan and Michelle Wong Zi Ting.

During the Jury Week leading up to the fashion show, the designers prepared their showcase booths to impress a jury panel of esteemed industry professionals – ESMOD International head of curriculum coordination for fashion design/fashion business Paul Marchand, Parkson Corporation marketing general manager Grace Ong and ESMOD KL alumna and founder of Fetiche The Label Shoong Nuo-Wen.

Following the fashion show was the award presentation ceremony. The winner of the “Best Fashion Design Award” went to Chong for her collection ‘Rebellion Exe’ – inspired by dystopian systems, cybernetic control and emotional suppression.

Chuah’s collection, ‘The Echo’ was honoured with the "Best Pattern Making Award". Rooted in the emotional textures of the designer’s personal moments, it reflects the idea that memories do not fade – they echo.

The “Coup de Coeur” award, presented to the collection that captured the hearts of the jury, was awarded to Lau for ‘August’ – a summer collection inspired by sun-kissed moments, sea breezes, coastal textures and an evolving sense of self.

The fashion show concluded on a celebratory note, with the designers receiving bouquets and heartfelt congratulations from their families, friends and lecturers. The atmosphere brimmed with pride and joy as the graduates were applauded not only for their creativity and dedication, but also for the journey that led them to this milestone moment.
