Annas Sulaiman named new Wangsa Maju OCPD

KUALA LUMPUR: Asst Comm Annas Sulaiman has been appointed the new Wangsa Maju OCPD, effective Wednesday (April 1).

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus, at the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters.

ACP Annas, who previously served as director of integrated operations at the National Financial Crime Prevention Centre (NFCC), takes over from Senior Asst Comm (SAC) Mohamad Lazim Ismail.

The appointment follows SAC Mohamad Lazim’s new role as deputy director (strategic planning) at the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department.

Comm Fadil expressed his appreciation to SAC Mohamad Lazim for his service and dedication during his tenure as Wangsa Maju OCPD.

“Throughout his service, various efforts, initiatives and approaches were implemented to strengthen security and the well-being of the local community.

“During his leadership, numerous achievements were recorded, particularly in operations, arrests and crime prevention,” he said.

He added that these achievements clearly reflected leadership grounded in integrity, strong commitment and a deep sense of responsibility.

“Over his tenure of one year, 11 months and 26 days at the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters, SAC Mohamad Lazim demonstrated excellent leadership performance with high integrity,” he said.

Comm Fadil said the role of an OCPD is a heavy responsibility, especially in the face of current challenges and increasingly complex crime trends.

He also called on all personnel at the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters to support ACP Annas in continuing the force’s agenda of excellence.

“With strong leadership and esprit de corps among officers and personnel, I am confident that every challenge can be overcome successfully,” he said.
