JPJ to review ops on fancy number plates and lights

Not a light matter: JPJ personnel inspecting a car installed with running strobe lights during an operation in Ipoh.

KEMAMAN: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will re-evaluate the effectiveness of its operation against motorists using vehicles with strobe lights, non-regulation number plates and high intensity discharge (HID) lights.

Its director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad said an in-depth review would be carried out to decide whether the operation should be continued or stopped after its one-month period ends on Nov 30.
