Checks on fancy number plates and strobe lights

PETALING JAYA: The police and seven other agencies joined forces to conduct major roadblocks in many areas nationwide, issuing summonses to traffic offenders and reminding them to abide by traffic rules and regulations.

Though the focus was on the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) crackdown against motorists with fancy number plates, using strobe lights and unapproved high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, the police and Land and Public Transport Commission (SPAD) were also involved, checking for permits, unpaid summons, expired driving licences and other traffic offences.
