PETALING JAYA: Netizens have expressed sympathy towards the mother of an alleged 13-year-old rape victim who potentially faces prosecution for whipping the suspect, despite acknowledging her actions were against the law.

Facebook user Nur Farlyanna wrote, "Why prosecute the mother? ... come on. She's the mother. Understand her feelings.... no parent would stay still if they know who raped their child."
