PEKAN: Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Hasan Malek headed the list of 180 individuals who today received awards and medals conferred in conjunction with the 83rd birthday of the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah.
The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, presented the medals at an investiture ceremony at the Istana Abu Bakar, here.
Hasan was among the 13 individuals who received the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah (SSAP) award which carries the title 'Datuk Seri'.
The other recipients of the award were Federal Court Judge Datin Paduka Zaleha Zahari; Bukit Aman Police Headquarters Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Syed Ismail Syed Azizan; Federal Territories Ministry secretary-general Datuk Adnan Md Ikhsan; Immigration Department director-general Datuk Alias Ahmad; Yayasan Felda managing director and chief executive Datuk Dr Emel Faizal Mohd Mokhtar; Kumpulan Globaltec Formation Bhd executive chairman Datuk Dr Goh Tian Chuan.
Datuk Ayubkhan Gulamkhan; Oriental Group of Restaurants chairman Datuk Siew Mun Chuang; Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Yeoh Choon San; Kumpulan Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd deputy executive chairman Mohd Fauzi Yon; Stanta Mauser (M) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tan Cheng Chai and Tamil Nesan managing director Vell Paari Samy Vellu.
Eleven people received the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP) and 114, the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), both of which carry the title 'Datuk'; 10 received the Setia Ahmad Shah Pahang (SAP); 10, the Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP); 11, the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP) and 11, the Ahli Mahkota Pahang (AMP).
Recipients of the DSAP included Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said; Paya Besar MP Datuk Abdul Manan Ismail; MACC policy, planning and research division director Datuk Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya; National Archives of Malaysia director-general Daresah Ismail; Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) director-general Mohd Razali Hussain and University Malaysia Pahang (UMP)
Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Daing Mohd Nasir Daing Ibrahim.
Also receiving the award were Perak Customs director Datuk Mohd Nasir Said; Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd executive director Datuk Wan Zulkifli Wan Muda; Universiti Kuala Lumpur president Prof Dr Mazliham Mohd Su'ud; Melati Muhibbah Sdn Bhd managing director Chia Choon Mua and Muassasah Muttawif Asia Tenggara chairman Jameel Sulaiman Hussain Bondagji.
The DIMP recipients were Pahang state executive councillors Norol Azali Sulaiman and Syed Ibrahim Syed Ahmad; Pulau Manis assemblyman Khairuddin Mahmud; Kemayan assemblyman Mohd Fadil Osman; Lepar assemblyman Mohd Shohaimi Jusoh and Jengka assemblyman Wan Salman Wan Ismail.
Others who received the DIMP were Prime Minister's Department Research Division director-general Adenan Ab Rahman; Prime Minister's Department senior private secretary E. Sivabalan; Mara Higher Education Division senior director Abd Rahim Hashim; Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy director First Admiral Mohd Taha Ibrahim; Bukit Aman Police Headquarters Special Action Unit commander SAC Jamaludin Ibrahim; Pahang CID chief SAC Zakaria Ahmad.
