Four nabbed for suspected cable theft in Sungai Siput


IPOH: Four men were arrested on suspicion of stealing Telekom Malaysia (TM) cables in Persiaran Komersial Waterfront, Jalan Lintang near Sungai Siput on Friday (June 12).

Sungai Siput OCPD Supt Charan a/l Ai Wan said the suspects, 31 to 50, were arrested by an anti-crime police patrol at about 5.30am.

"All suspects have prior criminal and drug records, and three of them tested positive for morphine,” he said in a statement on Saturday (June 13).

Ten pieces of cables, cable-cutting tools and a stolen red SUV were also seized, he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code (Punishment for theft). — Bernama
