SEREMBAN: Parti Amanah Negara will defend the Klawang seat and field candidates in eight other constituencies in the Negri Sembilan state elections, says its state Youth chief Hanis Alimin.
He said the eight other seats it will be vying for are Paroi, Senaling, Johol, Kota, Serting, Gemencheh, Bagan Pinang and Lenggeng.
"We hope that voters will give us the mandate to form the state government again for political stability, continuous development, and the welfare of the people," he said in a statement.
In the Aug 2023 polls, Amanah only contested the Klawang and Paroi seats.
This was due to an agreement between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional to fight the election as a team.
In the 2018 state polls, Amanah had contested seven seats and won three. These were Klawang, Paroi and Lenggeng.
In the Aug 1 polls, Amanah's allies PKR will field candidates in 16 seats while DAP will defend the remaining 11.
"Pakatan has proven that this coalition prioritises unity, consensus, and administrative stability in delivering the development agenda for the people.
"Negri Sembilan requires leadership that focuses on solutions and the future of its people, rather than politics that invite division and uncertainty," he said.
Hanis added that Amanah, which is anchored on the Islamic concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin (mercy to all creation), is committed to championing the values of justice, integrity, unity, and welfare for all people, regardless of race or religion.
Its candidates will comprise a blend of youth, experience and women leaders dedicated to public service.
