Suicide rate on the rise in Malaysia


PUTRAJAYA: The suicide rate is on the rise in Malaysia, with more than 1,000 people taking their own lives over a three-year period.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the ratio of suicides from 2007 to 2010 was 1.3 for every 100,000 people, but added that it could be higher.
