Malaysia and South Korea’s travel industry stakeholders are strengthening tourism cooperation through a seminar focused on exploring new business opportunities and generating travel demand.
Batik Air Malaysia, in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, hosted the event last month in Seoul, South Korea.
The seminar was held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026 (VMY2026), with a focus on showcasing Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings and creating new travel demand through closer collaboration among Tourism Malaysia, Batik Air Malaysia and South Korean travel industry partners.
The event was attended by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Malaysian ambassador to the Republic of Korea Datuk Mohamad Zamruni Khalid, Batik Air Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Tourism Malaysia director-general Mohd Aminul Rizal Abdul Rahim and travel industry representatives.
Chandran highlighted the airline’s commitment to help South Korean travellers discover Malaysia’s diverse destinations and travel experiences.
He also underscored the importance of collaboration between the tourism board, airlines and travel trade in generating new demand in conjunction with VMY2026.
During the seminar, Tourism Malaysia Korea presented VMY2026 and Malaysia’s diverse tourism attractions, while Batik Air Malaysia Korea introduced the airline’s key routes, services and network.
