Employees, business partners and international guests gathered in Johor Baru to celebrate the 20th anniversary of heavy equipment manufacturer EIK Engineering Sdn Bhd.

Marking two decades since it was established in Johor in 2006, the company hosted a dinner at Holiday Villa Johor Baru City Centre.

Themed “A Night Around the World”, the dinner saw company leaders welcoming customers and business partners from 10 countries.

EIK Engineering managing director Tiew Kim Boon spent the evening greeting guests before reflecting on the company’s humble beginnings in his speech.

“Twenty years ago, we started with a simple belief: we can build something better.

“At the time, we had no idea how far this journey would take us,” he said.

Tiew said through determination and courage, the company overcame every challenge to grow into what it was today.

“I originally chose EIK because it was simple to remember, but our story has always been built on keeping our promises,” he said.

He added that as the company marked its milestone anniversary, a new deeper meaning was being given to the EIK acronym: Excellence (never accept “good enough”, always pushing to be better), Innovation (keep learning, evolving and creating better solutions), and Keeping Our Commitment (the core promise behind everything the company does).

“Thank you to our team, partners and family for your hard work and support – we would not be here without you,” he said.

Tiew said the company’s 20-year foundation prepared it for an exciting future as they move forward under its vision to “Build Beyond Imagination.”

Sales and marketing executive director Wong Chua Yong said the company served global customers, operating in countries spanning from Iceland and Sweden to Chile and Argentina.

“Looking forward, we will target high-barrier markets that value engineering excellence,” he said.

Wong added that its customers increasingly needed multi- purpose machines that offer greater flexibility and higher utilisation.

He said they wanted a single machine and operator to quickly switch between different tasks at the same job site.

With its headquarters in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, the company produces high-performance amphibious excavators and heavy machinery attachments, serving the construction, mining, dredging and marine industries across more than 80 countries.
