KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Berjaya Hospitality Group (BHG) to undertake joint marketing and promotional activities in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign.

In a joint statement, the two parties said the collaboration would leverage BHG's international hotel network to promote Malaysia across key tourism markets

Under the agreement, BHG will participate in Tourism Malaysia's international sales missions and facilitate familiarisation trips for media representatives, travel trade partners and key opinion leaders.

The two parties will also develop joint marketing campaigns and travel packages, alongside digital and social media promotional activities.

BHG, which operates 10 hotels and resorts in Malaysia, will promote the Visit Malaysia campaign through its properties in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Japan, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Vietnam and Iceland.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said the collaboration was aimed at increasing visitor engagement and tourism spending.

“By leveraging Berjaya Hospitality Group's network, we can elevate overall visitor engagement, encourage greater tourism spending, and drive sustainable growth across our local tourism sector,” he said.

Meanwhile, Berjaya Property Bhd group chief executive officer Syed Ali Shahul Hameed said BHG would use its international hospitality network to promote Malaysian destinations to overseas travellers.

“We are committed to using our platforms, properties and partnerships to showcase the diversity of Malaysia and create meaningful opportunities for more visitors to discover and experience the country.”

In conjunction with the partnership, BHG has introduced its *Stay Berjaya, Discover More of Malaysia* campaign, offering room discounts of up to 70% at participating properties.

The promotion requires a minimum stay of two nights at participating city hotels or three nights at resorts.

Bookings are available until Dec 31, 2026, for stays through June 30, 2027.
