Sime Darby Property Bhd and Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) have unveiled the Concept Home 2035 (CH2035) Competition to reimagine the future of Malaysian housing.
Proposals should explore buildable residential products and housing typologies beyond conventional terrace homes, for a planned 69.58ha site at Elmina Hills, a development within Elmina West in City of Elmina township.
The proposals will be guided by five design pillars: Climate-Responsive Planning; Cost-Effective and Marketable; Pragmatic and Scalable; Flexible Planning; and Biophilic and Sustainability.
Open to PAM-registered architects and participating consortium teams, the competition will follow a two-stage process, beginning with initial submissions and shortlisting, followed by refined proposals and final jury evaluation.
The submission deadline is Sept 8, with the results expected to be announced in early December 2026.
The winning entry will receive RM150,000, while second- and third-place entries will receive RM90,000 and RM70,000 respectively. The People’s Choice Award carries a prize of RM20,000.
