Skin Health Day Carnival 2026: Free dermatology consultations for students in Penang

SECONDARY school students dealing with skin problems will have an opportunity to consult dermatologists and learn about skin health at the Penang Adolescent Dermatology Workshop, held in conjunction with Skin Health Day Carnival 2026 next month.

The two-day programme on July 4 and 5 aims to raise awareness of common skin conditions among adolescents while giving participants and the public access to expert advice from dermatologists.

It is jointly organised by the Dermatological Society of Malaysia, Hospital Pulau Pinang, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, the Persatuan Penyayang Pesakit Psoriasis Pulau Pinang, the Penang Fujian Merchants Association and several supporting organisations.

The first session will be held from 7.30am to 1.30pm on July 4 at the SMJK Jit Sin hall. It is open to Form Two, Three and Four students.

Participants will attend bilingual talks in English and Chinese by dermatologists, take part in quizzes with prizes and lucky draws, and visit skin consultation booths, skincare exhibitions and skin prick test stations.

Free gifts, refreshments and e-certificates of attendance will be provided. Some consultation services and skin prick tests require advance registration.

The second session, which is open to secondary school students and the public, will be held from 9.30am to 5pm on July 5 at Sunshine Central Penang in Farlim.

Consultant dermatologists from Hospital Pulau Pinang, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Hospital Taiping and other hospitals and specialist centres will deliver talks on acne, eczema, psoriasis, urticaria, hair loss, facial pigmentation and safe aesthetic practices.

Visitors can also join activities organised by skincare brands, seek advice at skin consultation booths and receive complimentary gifts and product samples while stocks last.

The organisers said goodie bags would be given to the first 1,000 participants.

Admission and registration for both sessions are free, but places are limited. Interested participants are encouraged to register early.
