INFRASTRUCTURE upgrades in Kampung Kuala Pangsun in Hulu Langat, Selangor, carried out under the Kampung Angkat Madani initiative, are expected to benefit residents through enhanced community engagement and economic activities.

Village chief Mohamad Hanafiah Hussin said the villagers’ commitment was key to ensuring that facilities provided by the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) were well utilised and properly maintained.

“We should not only maintain them but continue improving them by working together,” he said at the handover ceremony, as reported by Bernama.

JPM senior deputy secretary-general Datuk Abd Shukor Mahmood, who presented the handover certificate to Mohamad Hanafiah, said the RM1mil allocation was used for road upgrades, a futsal court and a community hall.

According to Mohamad Hanafiah, Kampung Kuala Pangsun is home to some 500 to 600 residents including the Temuan Orang Asli community.

The upgraded facilities, he said, could serve as a hub for community activities and encourage youths to engage in healthy pursuits.

At the same time, he said, the village was looking to strengthen its ecotourism appeal by tapping into nearby natural attractions such as rivers and mountains.

“Visitors come every week, some from outside the state, because of the village’s uniqueness,” he added.
