Motorcyclist killed in collision with lorry in Hulu Langat


KAJANG: A fatal accident in Hulu Langat claimed the life of a senior citizen after a lorry collided with a motorcycle on Friday (April 17).

Kajang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident occurred along Jalan Hulu Langat.

“Police investigations showed that the motorcyclist had crossed in front of the lorry before the collision. The lorry then struck the motorcycle, leading to the death of the 79-year-old rider,” he said in a statement on Saturday (April 18).

The pillion rider, a 14-year-old student, and the 29-year-old lorry driver sustained no injuries. Investigations revealed that the victim was the grandfather of the pillion rider and was on his way to the mosque at the time of the accident.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
