Hydroponic means to nourishment, empowerment

Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (RCKLCC) has shown growing support for communities in need, via the handover of a fully operational hydroponic farm to Caring Home Kajang. The initiative, part of RCKLCC’s commitment to “Service Above Self”, aims to provide the residents with a reliable source of fresh, nutritious vegetables while promoting eco-friendly farming practices. The hydroponic system was expected to help reduce food costs and improve the residents’ diet quality, with the farm supplying up to 30% of the residents needs in a long-term sustainable way, the club said in a media statement. “This project is more than just about growing vegetables – it’s about growing hope, skills and sustainability,” said RCKLCC president Ang Sheng Wen. “We believe this farm will not only nourish bodies but also inspire a greener future for our community.” The club said training had also been provided to the centre’s staff and residents to ensure the farm’s long-term success.
