EIGHT initiatives under the “Ramadan Kasih PKNS 2026” programme were allocated RM273,600 by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS).

Held annually since 2023, it benefits orphans, the poor and senior citizens, among others.

The various initiatives aim to help those in need and cultivate togetherness in line with the spirit of the fasting month, said PKNS in a media statement as reported by Bernama.

“Ramadan Kasih PKNS reflects our continuous commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and contributing to the well-being of the community,” said PKNS.

Through it, RM100,000 was channelled to welfare homes such as Pertubuhan Pengurusan Asrama Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Miskin Sekendi in Sabak Bernam and Kompleks Asrama Anak-Anak Yatim Pulau Indah in Klang.

Apart from this, 26 orphans received Hari Raya clothing and duit raya, 50 elderly people living in poverty received food necessities while 6,000 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to the public, said PKNS.

At a recent event, 500 PKNS staff members broke fast with 26 orphans from Pertubuhan Pengurusan Asrama Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Miskin Sekendi.

Each child was presented with RM200 in duit raya by Selangor infrastructure and agriculture committee chairman Izham Hashim and PKNS group chief executive officer Mahmud Abbas.

At the same time, the PKNS Senior Officers Association, represented by its president Wan Zuraimy Che Wan Zaid, donated RM2,000 to the welfare home.
