50 Shah Alam kids get Raya outfits

FIFTY underprivileged children from Shah Alam were treated to a shopping spree courtesy of Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

The “Jom Beli Baju Raya Bersama Golongan Kurang Berkemampuan” programme, held at Gio Fabrics in Section 16, was part of the city council’s efforts to strengthen ties with the community, especially those in the B40 group.

The children, aged seven to 17, were each given a set of baju raya worth RM200.

“We hope that through this programme, the children feel the excitement of preparing for Aidilfitri,” MBSA Corporate and Public Relations Department director Mohd Fauzi Aziz Maamor said in a statement.

Also present at the event were Shah Alam mayor Datuk Zabidah Safar, deputy mayor Safriah Md Adzhar, Orang Besar Daerah Petaling Datuk Emran Kadir, MBSA deputy secretary (management) Shahrin Ahmad and councillors Tengku Ahmad Tengku Kasim and Suryamuizzudin Kamarudin.
