Taiwanese choir makes M'sian debut at PJ concerts

Catch Taiwan's Dream Lotus Insightful Praises Choir in action during two shows at PJPAC in 1 Utama Shopping Centre on Jan 31.

Malaysian, Taiwanese and Singaporean young musicians will be performing in two shows on Jan 31.

“Dreams Awakened” will take place at PJPAC, 1 Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Organised by Ban Foo Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Association, the not-for-profit concert welcomes Taiwan’s Dream Lotus Insightful Praises Choir for its maiden performance here.

Sharing the stage are Malaysia’s female vocal duo Double A (Aru and Amy), Singapore’s youth choir Yazers and Taiwanese musician AnDrew.

The repertoire is drawn from “Insightful Praises” compositions by Zhen-Ru, presented through choral works, vocal ensembles and solo performances.

Founded in 2001, Dream Lotus Insightful Praises Choir upholds a rigorous musical discipline and pure choral aesthetic.

Their musical style blends Eastern pentatonic elements with Western harmony.

Singapore’s Yazers are known for their pure a cappella sound while Double A features rich two-part harmonies.

AnDrew brings a contemporary touch, infusing insightful interpretations with pop and indie sensibilities.

In a press release, the association said the event was aimed at highlighting gratitude for life, blessings for the world and a shared longing for inner peace.

There will be two shows on Saturday – 2.30pm and 8pm.

Tickets are priced from RM188 to RM388 and can be purchased through onetix.com.my/events/dreams-awakened/489
