CLOSER cooperation between the Federal Government and local entrepreneur groups is crucial to strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses and create more growth opportunities in Johor.
Dewan Teraju Usahawan Bumiputera Negri Johor (Dewan Teraju) president Datuk Ismail Karim said the group conveyed the message during a strategic discussion session with Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin in Johor Baru.
“We organised the session with the deputy minister to strengthen ties between the ministry and Bumiputra business players in the state,” he said.
“The meeting provided an important platform for discussions on improving the Bumiputra entrepreneurial ecosystem in Johor.”
Ismail added that various views, ideas and constructive proposals were raised during the session to ensure entrepreneur development agendas could be implemented more effectively.
“The close synergy between the ministry and industry players in Johor is an important catalyst in strengthening Bumiputra economic competitiveness,” he said.
“It will also help create more growth opportunities for local entrepreneurs, in line with the Maju Johor 2030 aspiration.”
Ismail said the session was attended by most of the association’s newly elected committee members, who voted in the new leadership team during the organisation’s third annual general meeting, held before the discussion.
Ismail added that the discussion also focused on identifying more progressive, inclusive and sustainable approaches to entrepreneur development.
“Collaboration between the Federal Government and state entrepreneur organisations is becoming increasingly important amid current economic challenges and rapid changes in the business landscape,” he said.
“Empowering Bumiputra entrepreneurs will contribute towards strengthening Johor’s economic resilience and improving the participation of local businesses in high-value sectors.”
Ismail expressed appreciation to Mohamad for the meeting, describing it as a strategic platform that added significant value to the association’s future direction.
“We hope such engagements with the ministry will continue to ensure issues affecting entrepreneurs can be addressed more effectively.”
