Lending a helping hand after Labu fire

A PROPERTY developer came to the aid of eight families whose homes were destroyed in a recent blaze in Labu near Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

A team of 12 volunteers from Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd turned up at SK Labu Ulu, where the families were seeking temporary shelter, and provided them with dry ration and other daily necessities.

Medical personnel from Mawar Medical Centre also joined in the effort, offering both medical assistance and support to the 51 displaced residents.

Matrix Concepts investor relations and sustainability officer Mohd Fadzli Suhaimi said businesses grow from society and had a fundamental duty to give back.

“When the community faces hardship, we stand with them and this unwavering commitment defines our organisation,” he said.

The Mawar Medical Centre nursing team provided on-site health screenings and immediate medical care to the residents.

Matrix Medicare runs the medical centre.

Its executive director Dr Ong Chiew Ping said an ambulance was also on standby in case of an emergency.

“Disaster response goes beyond emergency care.

“We provided professional medical assistance and compassionate care to help affected families build resilience and move toward recovery with hope,” he said.
