FROM its humble beginnings with just two employees in 2000, M Summit Group has grown into a thriving enterprise of more than 100 staff, under the leadership of its founder and chairman Datuk Albert Moh.

Almost 1,000 guests turned up to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary at a gala dinner held at the Setia Spice Convention Centre in Relau, Penang.

“Twenty-five years ago, M Summit Group was only a dream,” Albert said in his speech.

“What sustained us through the years was not just teamwork and hard work, but also the values I learned from my late mother – integrity, care and sincerity.

“Today, we have built a strong company reputation founded on trust, care and honesty, with businesses spanning property development, construction, hospitality and community service.”

At the celebration, Albert announced the establishment of the M Summit EduCare Fund, a new initiative to provide interest-free study loans and academic excellence awards for employees’ children.

He described the fund as a reflection of the group’s belief that “true success is not only measured by how tall we build, but by how much hope we lift through education”.

“Outstanding students will have their study loans automatically converted into scholarships,” said Albert.

Among those present at the dinner were Penang agrotechnology, food security and cooperative development committee chairman Fahmi Zainol, state social development, welfare and non-Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Lim Siew Khim, Balik Pulau MP Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, assemblymen Teh Lai Heng (Komtar) and Wong Yuee Harng (Pengkalan Kota), Penang island mayor Datuk A. Rajendran as well as M Summit Group chief executive officer Moh Wei Ren and executive director Datin Jennifer Ong.

Albert also presented a commemorative gift to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, which was received on the latter’s behalf by state tourism and creative economy executive councillor Wong Hon Wai.

Hon Wai praised the group for its contributions to the state’s development, ranging from residential projects to hotels and convention spaces.

“The group has not only acted as a developer, but as a partner in Penang’s growth story.

“Its projects have transformed the cityscape while enhancing lifestyles, workplaces and community connections.”

He also commended the group’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, citing initiatives such as beach clean-ups, career talks in schools, free haircuts for the homeless and visits to underprivileged families in Datuk Keramat.

The evening also saw the presentation of long service awards to employees who had served the company for more than five years, as well as corporate partnership awards to long-term business collaborators.

All staff also received a commemorative gift marking the company’s 25th anniversary.
