A JOHOR-based property developer has set up a community centre in Kulai to foster harmony and growth in the area.

Haverse Holding Sdn Bhd chairman Chong Khoon Quck said Haverse Community Centre at K-City in Indahpura, Kulai, was testimony that businesses and social responsibility could go along together.

Speaking at the opening of the centre, he said the centre was their contribution, built under their “Uniting Communities, Enriching Lives” vision.

The centre was opened by Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) Pekan Senai Zone councillor Wong Pow Kyan representing MPKu president Mohd Hafiz Aliman.

Also present at the event were the company’s director and chief executive officer Brendon Yeo, directors Phua Khai Hoo and Tan Choon Kiat, MPKu Saleng Zone councillor Law Wei Siong and MPKu Kelapa Sawit councillor Woon Joon Haw.

Chong said the centre aimed to create an inclusive platform that integrated learning, culture, wellness and social engagement.

“It also strives to promote closer neighbourly ties and meaningful connections through a variety of programmes and initiatives.

“The centre offers a diverse range of activities and workshops catering to all age groups in the fields of education, health, arts and technology.

“Each programme is curated to encourage personal development and strengthen community ties, contributing to the creation of a more caring and connected society,” he added.

According to Chong, the centre also welcomes corporations, local authorities and social organisations to collaborate in welfare, education and community programmes for the public.

“We believe in engaging in small, intentional acts of kindness, empathy and cooperation, that over time create a more positive, united and productive community,” he said.

Chong said the presence of cafe brand The Brew Orchestra, as one of the first businesses to start operations at K-City, would introduce a fresh urban lifestyle to Indahpura.

He said the K-City project, the new commercial landmark in Kulai, integrated the “4-in-1” development concept – commercial, office, showroom and warehouse spaces.

“The project is expected to be handed over in the first quarter of 2026, and is now open for leasing,’’ he said.

Chong said that looking ahead, the company would be launching a 16ha integrated mixed development adjacent to K-City, combining residential, commercial and sustainable green elements.

Additionally, he said an industrial development was being planned in Senawang, Seremban in Negri Sembilan to promote regional industrial and logistic growth.

In his speech, Mohd Hafiz said the centre would become the heart of the local community, where residents could share ideas, build relationships and grow together.

“Through the initiative by Haverse Holding, we can instil the values of caring, cooperation and social responsibility within the community,” he said.
