Terry Fox Run hits Shah Alam, Melaka in Sept

THOSE keen to lace up for a good cause can catch two additional Terry Fox Run events in Melaka and Selangor next month.

Inspired by Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, the run has grown into one of the world’s largest fundraising movements for cancer research.

Terry Fox Run Melaka 2026 will see the third iteration of the charity event on Sept 6, from 7am to 11am at Dataran Klebang.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Terry Fox Run Shah Alam will be held on Sept 27 from 7am to 11am at Elmina Lakeside Mall.

For both events, organised in support of Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY), participants who register with a RM50 donation will receive the official Terry Fox Run event T-shirt.

There will also be family-friendly activities including face painting, photobooths, complimentary refreshments and sponsored goodie bags.

Participants may also make an additional RM40 donation to receive a limited-edition Terry Fox Run cap, while stocks last. Virtual participation is also available.

CRMY in a press release said each registration and donation supported its mission to conduct impactful cancer research, improve early detection, develop better treatments and save more lives.

Whether running, walking or cheering from the sidelines, the organisation said each participant becomes part of Terry Fox’s enduring legacy, proving that together, small steps can make a lasting difference in the fight against cancer. For details, go to www.cancerresearch.my
