Over 3,000 participants are expected to join “Shine Bright Pink October Run 2025” tomorrow at KL Tower.

It is organised by the SME National Women Entrepreneurs Bureau together with SME Tourism Bureau.

The run aims to unite society through sports, raise breast cancer awareness and early detection, and call for collective action in embracing health and solidarity during Pink October.

SME Association of Malaysia national president Dr Chin Chee Seong said Shine Bright was not just a run, but a national movement.

“This initiative carries the spirit of health, hope and unity.

“It is an important step in promoting an active lifestyle among Malaysians,” he said.

Organising chairman Kate Yong said the event’s focus was on women’s empowerment and self-care.

“Women often shoulder heavy responsibilities in their families and communities, but tend to neglect themselves.

“‘Shine Bright’ is not about demanding women to shine, but reminding them that they already shine from within.”

SME Women Entrepreneurs Bureau national vice-president and chairman Datuk Siow Lee Ching said there were plans to expand the event to the international stage.

SME Tourism Bureau chairman Datuk Ada Poon Yin Hoong said the event also marked an important starting point in welcoming Visit Malaysia 2026.

Among the event partners are the National Cancer Society Malaysia, Pink Unity and Dora.

This year, the organisers have collaborated with designer toy brand TNT Space.

The initiative is supported by the Youth and Sports Ministry, Tourism Malaysia and KL Tower among other sponsors.
