Lanang MP Alice Lau, through her service centre, has launched the “Programme Sayangi Lanang: Skim Lindung Kasih P211 Lanang”, benefitting 60 women.

Under this initiative, eligible participants are required to pay only RM20 instead of the RM120 annual fee for the Housewives Social Security Scheme (SKSSR).

The balance will be subsidised by Lau.

The scheme provides protection for a full 12 months.

Officials from the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) were present to register beneficiaries and to brief them on the details of the programme.

The scheme is designed to provide coverage to housewives for domestic accidents and incidents that may occur while carrying out household chores.

To be eligible, participants must be housewives who are registered voters in the Lanang parliamentary constituency and housewives below 55 years of age, or those who have not yet reached the age of 54 at the time of their first contribution to SKSSR.

Women interested in registering for the scheme are advised to visit the Lanang MP Service Centre, bringing along their MyKad to submit an application. — By ANDY CHUA
