SUBANG Jaya City Council (MBSJ) plans to build and expand several new roads to cater to current and future developments in Seri Kembangan.
Selangor infrastructure and agriculture committee chairman Datuk Izham Hashim said the proposed road projects were aimed at improving local connectivity and easing traffic congestion by dispersing vehicle flow.
“One is the proposed road from Taman Universiti Indah to Taman Bukit Serdang.
“This is currently at the feasibility study stage, to be finalised soon.
“Second is the proposed extension of Jalan Cemara to Jalan Inovasi 8, within the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation area.
“Research and planning are underway for this proposed road extension,” said Izham.
“This proposal involves collaboration between Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and MBSJ.
“If this proposal is approved, a feasibility study will be jointly prepared by both parties.”
He said the third was a proposed road connecting Bukit Serdang Section 11 to Taman Puncak Jalil.
“The research and planning for this structure, which will span across Maju Expressway (MEX), is ongoing,” he said in reply to Wong Siew Ki (PH-Seri Kembangan) who asked about new access roads in Seri Kembangan during the Selangor State Assembly sitting at Bangunan Dewan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam.
Izham further said the state government has approved the Selangor Road and Highway Development Strategic Plan 2035.
“This plan will serve as the state’s main reference on roads that need upgrading and expansion, or missing links that need to be built,” he added.
