PANTAI Bagan Lalang in Selangor will unveil a new caravan park and other significant upgrades during its biennial beach festival, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors.
Pesta Pantai Bagan Lalang is set to take place on Sept 20 and 21.
Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) president Dr Ani Ahmad said the 11-plot caravan park, a pilot project funded by Housing and Local Government Ministry with an allocation of RM500,000, would be launched during the event.
“The park will be equipped with facilities including toilets, a prayer room and a management office,” she said.
Ani added that other upgrades to the beach included a new tourist information centre, improvements to the playground and food stalls as well as the planting of some 800 new trees.
Roads and parking areas have also been resurfaced to ensure smooth traffic flow.

“We have made preparations to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for visitors while supporting the growth of local small businesses, homestays, food operators and other entrepreneurs in Sepang,” she said.
In its sixth edition, this year’s festival is expected to attract both local and international visitors, in line with the local council’s ongoing efforts to promote the beach as a premier tourism destination and to support Visit Selangor Year 2025.
“The beach festival has become a signature celebration for the municipality,” she said, adding that the last edition in 2023 drew over 13,500 visitors.
This year’s festival promises to be even bigger, featuring more than 25 programmes, including beach football, volleyball, pickleball and sandcastle-building competitions, as well as traditional games, martial arts demonstrations and cultural performances.
Visitors can also look forward to a “Battle of the Band” competition, barista gathering, cooking contest, exhibitions, sales booths and performances by guest artistes to entertain the crowds throughout the two-day event.
