Petrosains is throwing its weight behind the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) campaign, positioning its flagship venues as key destinations where world-class tourism meets science education.
By leveraging its central locations in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the organisation is supporting the national tourism push by showcasing Malaysia’s engineering and innovative spirit to a global audience.
During the "A Memorable Experience With Petrosains" strategic media engagement today (April 13), the organisation pledged to continue its role in enhancing the visitor experience at both Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and the PETRONAS Twin Towers SkyXperience.
Petrosains director of stakeholder relations and communications Shamini Balan noted that these landmarks are far more than just tourist stops.

She described them as unique spaces where Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and tourism intersect, offering visitors a deeper look into the "Malaysian story."
"Both venues present an opportunity for visitors to experience our national narrative through science and innovation," Sharmini said.
"At Petrosains, we have consistently evolved, integrating globally relevant content and hands-on activities that add tangible value to every visitor's journey."
She also touched on the emotional significance of the skyline, noting that the “majestic” PETRONAS Twin Towers remain a profound source of national pride.
“Many people from around the world adore the towers, and the view from the SkyXperience offers a perspective that continues to captivate global audiences,” she added.

The event, which included a luncheon and guided tours, served as a platform for the media to explore the latest high-tech offerings.
Among the highlights was the Veloclimb at the SPEED area, a digital-physical hybrid climbing wall, and Hello AI in the Sparkz zone, which provides an accessible introduction to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence.
Beyond the city centre, Sharmini emphasised that Petrosains’ mission for social impact extends to the country’s furthest reaches.
Through the Petrosains Discovery Rover, the organisation travels to rural areas to bring quality STEM education to various communities, including indigenous students.
“We cannot create a lasting impact on society if we act alone,” she stated, thanking the media for nearly three decades of partnership.

“Meaningful collaborations with the press are vital because we share a belief in the power of storytelling and education to spark positive change. We believe every child deserves quality STEM education, regardless of their background or geographical location.”
The experience at the towers has also been expanded to include a lifestyle element.
Visitors can now dine at Sky Cafe by Maja on Level 83, complementing the Level 41 SkyXperience and the breathtaking observation deck on Level 86.
For those looking to visit, full details on facilities, ticket prices, and the time-ticketing system are available on the official Petrosains and PETRONAS Twin Towers websites.
