THE Penang Press Club (PPC) is accepting online applications for its 2026 Study Grants and University Awards for members’ children.

Its president Ang Tong Kai said life members with at least one year of membership may visit https://bit.ly/2026ppcstudygrant to review the guidelines and submit their applications by May 10.

The awards will be presented during the second session of the club’s 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 1.

“This year, the club has transitioned to online applications.

“Each student may apply for only one award, with the exception of an additional incentive for those who scored an ‘A’ in the Chinese Language subject in government examinations.

“The University Award is open to eligible candidates who completed a bachelor’s degree or higher from local or overseas universities in 2025.

“They must provide a copy of their degree certificate as proof,” he said.

Applications for the interest-free university study loan are also open to those who have secured admission to local or overseas universities, Ang added.

For details, contact the charity, welfare, and education fund subcommittee chairman Loh Koon Huat at 016-419 8258.

On the club’s AGM to be held at 8pm on the 9th floor function room of St Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang, club secretary Khoo Boo Chye said any resolutions must be submitted to him in writing by May 22.

He said the proponents must attend the meeting in person to present their resolutions, adding that submissions can be e-mailed to pgpressclub@gmail.com and simonkhoo1007@gmail.com.

Dinner will be served during the AGM.

To facilitate catering arrangements, members planning to attend are requested to register via the online form https://bit.ly/2026ppcagm before May 23.
