Bandar Puchong Jaya speed bump too high to handle, say motorists


The new speed bump along Jalan Tempua 2 in Bandar Puchong Jaya is receiving flak.

A SPEED bump at Taman Tempua 2 in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Selangor, has upset motorists who claim it exceeds the standard height.

They also claimed that the high speed bump had damaged their vehicles.

Jalan Tempua 2, about 950m long, has eight speed bumps, including the latest one.

Resident Kurt Low, who drives a sports car, said his undercarriage was scratched by the new speed bump.

“It also wears out the suspension and shortens the lifespan of the car,” he said.

Another resident, Yoon Meng Piew, said his car had experienced minor damage.

Taman Tempua Residents Association chairman Alan Chan said they had highlighted the matter to Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) Zone 10 councillor Ng Seow Chen.

“We reached out to check whether the speed bump was built according to the standard height,” said Chan.

During a site visit, StarMetro noticed that seven other speed bumps were lower compared to the new one.

MBSJ did not respond to queries on the matter as at press time.
