As the sun takes a bow

BATHING in the warm hues of sunset can uplift one’s mood and offer a moment of calm after a hectic day.

In the evenings around Klang Valley, people from all walks of life can be seen admiring the setting sun.

From their own neighbourhoods to tourist spots, landmarks and recreational areas, a sunset can be enjoyed from almost anywhere if the weather is clear.

In the heart of the nation’s administrative capital at Putrajaya Lake, golden rays paint the buildings and landscape with a honeyed glow.

Many take their evening constitutional in gleaming amber around popular lakeside parks such as Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya in Petaling Jaya, and Kuala Lumpur’s Perdana Botanical Garden and Kepong Metropolitan Park.

Dusk also makes for some glorious photos, with silhouettes against the light producing a striking visual effect, and the flattering “golden hour” − with hues infused with red and gold − providing a unique quality sought after by photographers.
