MULTINATIONAL firm Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) has announced the renewal of its sponsorship for Malaysia’s national badminton mixed doubles pair, Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai, through 2025.

The renewal reflects KLK’s continued commitment to support local sporting talent and foster national pride, the company said.

KLK has since 2023 been a supporter of the pair, who have made remarkable strides on the international stage.

In addition to renewing its sponsorship, KLK has extended support to the pair’s coach, Teo Kok Siang, ensuring the team has the resources to excel this year.

As part of this partnership, Goh and Lai will also serve as KLK brand ambassadors for DavosLife Science products.

KLK chief operating officer Lee Jia Zhang said, “We are incredibly proud of Goh and Lai for their dedication and outstanding performance over the past year.

“Their perseverance and sportsmanship are inspiring.”

In a press statement, Goh and Lai expressed their gratitude for KLK’s continued support.

They said, “Our journey as independent players has been challenging, yet incredibly rewarding.

“Securing funding and meeting our tournament commitments has been a significant hurdle.

“KLK’s unwavering trust in our potential, regardless of outcomes, has been empowering.

“This partnership has not only boosted our confidence but has also provided us the stability to focus on our performance and represent Malaysia with pride.”

The pair said their aim for 2025 would be to refine their performance, maintain consistency and break into the world’s top five rankings.

“In 2024, we came close to securing a Super 1000 championship title in China but narrowly missed it.

“For 2025, we are motivated to achieve that milestone,” they said.
