TWO Ampang entrepreneurs have been recognised for leveraging digital platforms and state initiatives to grow their business at the Platform Selangor Awards Night.
The awards highlight the commitment of local traders to enhancing their business knowledge and digital capabilities through initiatives driven by the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (Upen) and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated).
In a statement, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) said it remained committed to fostering entrepreneurship within the municipality through state and local programmes.
One of the winners, Mohd Farhan Md Aripin, proprietor of Fleur De Sel Nasi Goreng Daging No. 1, received the U-Plats Digital (PBT) Outstanding Entrepreneur Award.
Known for his signature beef fried rice – prepared with tender beef marinated using a unique recipe – Mohd Farhan started his business from a humble food truck near Ampang Point Shopping Centre in 2013 before moving to Laman Selera Ampang Jaya.
He walked away with a trophy and a RM1,000 mock cheque.
Meanwhile, Siti Hajar Saleh, founder of Raramelts, took home the Revolutionary Technology Micro Entrepreneur Special Award for her effective use of technology and digital marketing strategies.
Siti Hajar, who started Raramelts from a single room before operating out of a commercial premises in Pandan Perdana in 2023, has built a social media following of 40,000.
Her business focuses on continuous research and development to produce premium biscuits and cakes.
She received a trophy, RM3,000 in cash and a RM15,000 Selangor Madani Entrepreneur Fund (DUMS) grant.
The awards were presented by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and state youth, sports and entrepreneurship committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi.
Also present was MPAJ deputy president Hasrolnizam Shaari.
