RESIDENTS of Suria Homes in Taman Sri Segambut are urging Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to resurface roads in their neighbourhood.

Their main access roads, Jalan Udang Galah and Jalan Udang Batu in Kuala Lumpur were riddled with potholes, said Suria Homes Residents Association (SHRA) deputy chairman Michael Yen.

He said that while DBKL-appointed contractors had patched up potholes, the roads too were in need of resurfacing.

“There are 142 houses here and five main roads, including Jalan Udang Galah 4, 5 and 6, and most of them are in poor condition,” he said during a press conference in the housing area.

The residents also highlighted the sunken road surface on Jalan Udang Galah and hoped the issue would be addressed soon.

SHRA chairman Gary Low said he had highlighted the road problem to Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh’s office.

Community activist Yee Poh Ping joined in urging DBKL to allocate funds to resurface roads at Suria Homes.

“City Hall has carried out similar projects for a housing area in Taman Fadason before,” he said, adding that the matter had been raised to DBKL. ― By JAROD LIM
