WALKING is an ideal form of exercise to maintain overall health, especially for seniors, says Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei.

She said taking brisk walks with friends from the neighbourhood allowed residents to engage in much-needed physical activity.

It was also a good way to socialise, which was essential for good health, she added.

“Under the ‘Selangor Penyayang Project’ (PSP) we have upgraded a 250m walkway at the park in Jalan SS2/48 in SS2 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

“We have taken into consideration various views and suggestions before the upgrade.

“The project that began in September was completed by the end of October at a cost of RM81,700,” said Lim.

PSP is an initiative focusing on minor physical projects to improve infrastructure.

SS2 Selatan Residents Association chairman Ching Leng Chu said the new walkway was much needed as certain stretches had been damaged by tree roots.

Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) councillor Loh Y. Lun said an estimated RM67,000 was spent to instal a rubber mat at the children’s play area located closer to Jalan SS2/47. — By EDWARD RAJENDRA
